Bowtch started with six girls, a lot of creativity, and absolutely no idea what we were doing.
What began as a fun summer project quickly turned into a journey of trial and error. We spent our days experimenting with beads, stones, colors, and designs—making things, taking them apart, and starting over again. There was no business plan, just curiosity and a love for creating.
As Bowtch grew, we got a crash course in what running a small business actually means. We thought we'd be making jewelry, but somehow we also became photographers, models, social media managers, customer service representatives, packaging experts, and delivery coordinators. When you're a small business, you quickly learn that every job is your job.
What surprised us most was the response.
Everywhere we went, people wanted to be part of the journey. Some became customers, some helped us sell, some promoted us, and others stepped in front of the camera to model. Before we knew it, Bowtch felt less like a business and more like a community project. The entire beach seemed to take part in it, reminding us just how generous and supportive people can be when they believe in something.
As time went on, we dove deeper into the world of jewelry making. We learned about stones, materials, tools, and techniques, and met suppliers and shop owners who generously shared their knowledge and helped guide us along the way. Piece by piece, we became more confident in our craft.
Then life took us in different directions, and Bowtch took a break.
But the love for it never disappeared. People kept asking about it, old customers still wore their pieces, and we realized that Bowtch had become something much bigger than jewelry.
So we came back.
Today, we continue to create handmade pieces using carefully selected materials, natural stones, pearls, and beads. While we've learned a lot since those early days, the heart of Bowtch remains the same: creativity, community, and the belief that the best things often begin without a plan.
And if there's one thing this journey has taught us, it's that Bowtch was never built by six girls alone—it was built by everyone who believed in it along the way.
